This 3-hour online course meets TREC requirements for Real Estate Agents and Brokers looking to renew their license in Texas. This course covers Significance of Real Estate Contracts, Living Wills and Powers of Attorney, Legal Aspects in Real Estate Transactions, Negotiation Techniques and Contract Safeguarding as well as Financial and Ethical Considerations. Upon completion of the course, you will receive 3 Credit Hours towards your renewal. Certificate emailed immediately upon completion!

Texas Real Estate Commission Requirements for License Renewal

Fulfill a total of 18 hours of approved Continuing Education (CE) courses, including:

• 8 hours of TREC Legal Update I and II
• 3 hours of coursework related to contracts
• 7 hours of elective CE

If you have assumed a supervisory role designated by your broker, incorporate the 6-hour Broker Responsibility course into your 18 hours of CE.

In instances where TREC records do not indicate completion of CE requirements upon submitting your renewal application, you are required to either pay a $200 CE Deferral Fee or opt for renewal on inactive status.

By remitting the CE Deferral Fee before the expiration date, you gain an additional 60 days from your expiration date to fulfill CE requirements while maintaining active status. It's important to note that an expired license cannot be renewed until CE requirements are satisfied, and the CE Deferral Fee is paid.

For CE completion more than 60 days after the license expiration date, an additional late reporting fee of $250 will apply. If you have not previously submitted your fingerprints to TREC during a renewal or application process, fingerprinting is mandatory for a criminal background check.

Real Estate Sales Agents are required to renew their licenses every two years. A renewal notice will be issued approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date. Until you receive this renewal notice, the license cannot be renewed. As part of the renewal process, completion of specific continuing education courses is mandatory to ensure the delivery of competent and high-quality real estate services.
